Seems like we all start out thinking our lives will take a particular course we, our parents, or most often perhaps society has mapped out early in life but which goes awry from unhappiness or unexpected circumstances. It's okay though, as there is a Master Designer who has our lives in His grip. We should perhaps worry less about what we do and more about how we do it. Where we end up is probably less important than who we walk alongside, who we share our lives with and encourage along the Way. That is a buen Camino!
Winding through more vineyards and grain fields, my heart was full of thankfulness for our health, the gorgeous weather, including clouds mid-morning to keep the sunburn at bay, and our Camino friends, "old" and new. Met Guy, a 5th grade teacher, and his wife Ann, from CA. They took the day off yesterday for her blisters and were trying again today. They seemed okay with that, which is typical of the kind of thing that happens here. Whether a pilgrim finishes in Santiago, comes back to finish next year, or only does a portion in his lifetime, just allowing growth to occur makes it a true pilgrimage. Ann began her growth even before her trip. Miserable as a lawyer, she quit after 15 years and is going to school to be a nurse. She thought her road was turning to the left, when all of a sudden it turned right, just like this Camino path. Every time I get my hopes up that the village is just over there, a twist in the road happens and another hill appears.

Got a map of the Camino yesterday with some pics of sites along the way: I can follow you better now. Having read all about it, I truly understand why are are doing this and can pray more effectively for you. My spiritual growth is being enriched just by your remarks and pictures as I follow you daily. God bless you both, keep you safe, and make you what He knows you can be. Much love,

We always think we have the best plan for our lives, but ultimately we have to be willing to surrender to God's plan because he is the only one who knows the BEST plan for our lives. Usually, at least in my case, it is completely different from my plan. Loved this post!
